April 30: OneDayBlogSilence.com (In honor of victims of Virginia Tech)
On April 16, 2007 we witnessed a terrible thing, more than 30 students have been murdered at Virginia Tech. It’s very unfortunate that these kind of killings keep on happening in schools and universities in the United States. I hope the government of US will look into the gun ownership issue as soon as possible, so that what happened in VTech won’t happen again.
With an estimated 40 percent of American households owning a gun and some 200 million weapons in private hands, according to surveys, challenging the constitutional right to bear arms is potentially a hugely unpopular move.
President George W. Bush said that while the shooting would inevitably rekindle debate about gun ownership, now was not the time to discuss the issue. Source: ChannelNewsAsia
