Some sites on goDaddy are down (including this blog)

godaddy down

Some sites on goDaddy.com were down today, including my blog. I am not sure for how long, but I was not able to access my blog for about 20 minutes (I do not know how long it had been down before that). At the time I am writing this post, some of my other sites which are hosted on goDaddy are still down.

While I was waiting for my blog to be up I made a little research on Google about goDaddy, hoping that I will find something about today’s downtime (I didn’t want to contact goDaddy because I knew I wouldn’t get a feedback right away, so I decided to wait only…) Unfortunately there was nothing, not on internet neither on goDaddy site. There were however lots and lots of disappointed goDaddy customers. Wow… I hope goDaddy will do something about it…. really!

Flash Tool – Project Tracker every 15 min

emergent task planner flash version

It’s a flash version of to-do list or project tracker by David Seah that I have blogged here. You can enter your To-Do list titles and track them by clicking on the bubbles every 15 minutes. Once you are done you can print it. It’s a great tool for freelancers who work on projects on hourly basis.

Online favicon generator tool

online favicon generator

This is a tool that can generate 16×16 icons (favicons) for your site. It also has a feature which allows you to create favicons from an image. Once you are done, you can download your icon in .ico format. If you do not know what is favicon it’s the small icon on the left side of the url. For example, here is the favicon for my site:

In order to display your icon on your website’s url, you need to upload it to your server and enter this code in your HTML. [change the url and icon name to your own]

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.yoursite.com/iconName.ico">

Thanks to Igor for letting me know about this favicon generator.

AdesBlog Agloco update: 200+ members

AdesBlog Agloco UpdateAs of today I have some 216 referrals, 91 of which are direct referrals. It seems that the members I have referred are not referring others. Here is a website that has 200+ direct referrals but his extended referrals are over 2000.

If you are new to Agloco then it’s a new promising company that will help you to make money online. There are two ways to make money with Agloco: one is to surf the net and make money from the ads displayed on the toolbar, second is to make money from the shares that you will get when the company goes public. (I personally prefer the second ;) Number of shares that you will get will depend on the number of people you have referred. Lastly, if you sign up under me, please work hard to refer as many people as you can huh… that way we both will be in better position to make more money ;)

WordPress 2.1.1 had been compromised on WP download server

wp compromised

If you have downloaded the WordPress within the last 3-4 days, you better upgrade your WP to 2.1.2. Because WordPress reports that someone had accessed their server and modified the download files, so now the 2.1.1 version allows remote PHP execution. That means that any site or blog that runs on WP 2.1.1 has a vulnerability and can easily be hacked.

To download WordPress version 2.1.2 go to http://wordpress.org/download/

ABC’s Lost – Outside object in the scene (revisit)

Lost.jpg, Outside Object In the Scene, DVD, Season 1, Episode 9, Horse
click on image to see enlarged version

All of you know the ABC’s popular show LOST right? Well, last time when I was watching I saw an outside object that was not supposed to be in the scene [see the image above] and I blogged about it here. Some people who watched the DVD version, reported that the hand has been removed. I guess the producers have noticed it and have corrected already.

If you didn’t notice the hand of a trainer while you were watching Season 2 Episode 9, here is your chance to see it: Download the Video29MB (8 seconds movie) . I hope this video clip removes the doubts of those who have contacted me regarding this… Thanks to the person who have directed me to this video clip.

Adobe Photoshop – Online version soon

Photoshop CS2

Adobe Systems plans to release an online version of its Adobe Photoshop in six months, the company’s chief executive said Tuesday. Wow, what a move! (Not sure if it’s a smart move though). Most normal PCs cannot even run Adobe Photoshop properly, because the program is just too huge and eats up all the memory. Imagine an online version, what kind of connection and PC you will need to run the online version?

I guess it will be a simpler version of Photoshop, and I hope it will be free. Your thoughts?

ReviewMe’s affiliate program – $25/lead

ReviewMe has introduced it’s own affiliate program with a twist. This is how it works, if you are a blogger you will be able to create a banner (or a text link) similar to the right. It will show the price to get reviewed in your blog. When a user clicks it takes to the detail page of your blog profile at ReviewMe, now here is the twist – if the user does not advertise on your blog but goes and buys a review at different blog you get $25. If the user buys from you then you do not get the $25 but your own advertisement money.

I know, they should have given this $25 even for your own leads huh? ;) That would be really great. ReviewMe.com
