Doc2Pdf.net is a free online tool to convert Microsoft Word Documents to PDF. The site might not look so nice (full of ads) but the tool works perfectly.

    I don’t like the ideea of sending my pdf files to a site for conversion.

    Personally I use a pdf converter tool from AmicUtilities and I’m quite satisfied with it.

    The very first document that i tried to convert generated error message! The second time i tried it gave me a blank pdf page.

    http://www.FreeFileconvert.com is also a good site for converting documents, it supports a variety of audio, video, image and documents formats.
