Get CoffeeCup’s Color Schemer for Free

Posted in » About Colors, Links, Software - by Ades on May 9th, 2006

CoffeeCup is offering their Color Schemer software for free with one condition. To place a link to their website from your website. I think this marketing trick will work. And I think this post will help them to spread their message as well… ;)

It kind of reminds me of sponsored themes (remembering the sponsored themes fiasco on Wordpress themes not too long ago) but at least they’re doing it a little more intuitively. I wonder, though, how they can monitor everyone and be sure that people ARE, in fact, putting these links in? There may simply be no way they can realistically do that, and they probably have to just act in good faith that people will, in fact, keep their side of the bargain.

I think they can control for the first time, but later if people remove the links, I don’t think they can track all of them. I guess they just hope that people will keep the links on their sites (forever) ;)

Coffee Cup is requesting for their link to be placed on the web site to whoever wishes to get the Color Schemer. What kind of link must I place to my site to get this schemer?
